  31. I'm going to swim against the stream :-).  I'm happy with my USR
  32. Sportster 33.6 external.  I had a Supra288Fax modem external on my
  33. last PC; it had a wonderful display and was perfectly autodetected by
  34. Win95...fine modem.  But the USR connects to my ISP's Couriers at
  35. noticeably faster speeds; I get 31,200 about one connect in ten, and I
  36. get fewer connects at sub-28.8 speeds.

  38. This applies only if you connect to 33.6 modems, and you have to put
  39. up with a minimal display, no Win95 autodetect, and the oddity that
  40. the modem is recognized only if it is turned on when the computer
  41. boots, or shortly after the CONNECT button is pressed in Dial-Up
  42. Networking...but I feel the need--the need for speed! :-)
